MARSH REED
Marsh Reed, Phragmites spp.:
Generally from five to fifteen feet tall. Has plume-like flower clusters and reed
tube stalk. Plant makes runners at the uppermost boarder of the marsh and
especially at a disturbance site. Marsh reed will replace
cordgrass but is viewed as an invader species beacause
it is not as efficient in productivity.
